I miss the old days when one could just walk into the shareholder meeting in the Computer History Museum. Too bad TSLA moved to Texas.
TheAlchemist•3mo ago
I recommend to listen to Elon speaking at the meeting today and judge for yourself what the man says.

Sustainable abundance for everybody, universal healthcare thanks to Optimus, 100M Optimuses per year production, already announcing Optimus 5 (2027 apparently), etc etc.

EDIT: Adding some other 'intersting topics' - distributed computing network from Tesla sitting in the garage - in order to prevent AI from getting bored, I kid you not ! Really people, listen to this stuff. Easy to dismiss as a cult. This guy was in the White House not so long ago, and is still the richest guy on earth.

EDIT 2: For those listening - if you think the guys asking questions are random shareholders, you're wrong. These are mostly Tesla influencers, that are part of the show.

CamperBob2•3mo ago
Why don't I just look up some old YouTube videos of interviews with L. Ron Hubbard or Erich von Daniken? They will make just as much sense and be just as likely to come true.
afavour•3mo ago
And it’s met with rapturous applause from the crowd. Truly crazy.
treetalker•3mo ago
The Optimi will build a Tesla Roadster (Third Generation!) for every man, woman, and child — and no one apart or in between!
mandeepj•3mo ago
> judge for yourself what the man says.

Americans have already seen and judged him when he ran chainsaw - along with Palantir and Thiel -through fed and, unnecessarily and unreasonably fired hardworking Americans, also stole data which currently probably sitting in Russia.

Those $2T in savings was a blatant lie.

Any idea why he isn’t speaking against T now after steering the election towards him? Because they gave him deportation threats.

CamperBob2•3mo ago
Obviously no one is about to deport Elon Musk. He isn't speaking against Trump because even he can't afford to alienate any more customers than he already has. The US government has been, and remains, Musk's most valuable customer of all.

They will find Musk in an expensive hotel room someday, sequestered behind a "Do Not Disturb" sign and surrounded by bottles of his own urine, after the housekeepers draw straws to see who goes in. Until then, dumb people are just going to keep getting richer by following him. I've reconciled myself to it at long last; there's no point complaining.

DemocracyFTW2•3mo ago
you believe that? really?—On second thought please DM me for a once-in-a-lifetime investment opportunity, but hurry we must act fast
TheAlchemist•3mo ago
It was a sarcastic comment. Just trying to encourage people to listen and see for themselves.

As for me, I'm 100% convinced it's a house of cards and a fraud which will make Enron look nice. If somebody thinks a guy lying like that has sound business practices when no one is looking, then think again.

techblueberry•3mo ago
We should not be judging people for what they say, we should judge people for what they <dont> do.
afavour•3mo ago
A cult at this point. But one that manages to prop up its own share value, which is kind of fascinating.
CamperBob2•3mo ago
It doesn't pay to be the only sane guy in the asylum.

All we need is to tax the wealth at 1% now.
cjbenedikt•3mo ago
Let's see if the ~25% that disagreed remain shareholders.
mosdl•3mo ago
They have to keep him since his hype train is what keeps the stock price high. Probably not going to end well for any long term holders of the stock.
