I built Capme because I passionately hate meetings (80% of that is just wasted time), but screen recorders either cost $18/month, add watermarks or I can't convince Janet in accounting to install any software whatsoever.
I just wanted something simple that everyone can use without signups, basically the excalidraw of video recording.
So that's exactly what I set out to build: Capme is a free screen recorder, no accounts needed, no time limits, no watermarks, no cloud uploads.
You choose a background, add a logo, and hit record. If you feel like you need it, write a script in the teleprompter.
That's it. With Capme, your videos never leave your device - no cloud processing, no storage, nothing. You record locally, save the file, and share it however you want.
It works best in Chrome, decent in Safari & Firefox.

Completely unmonetized for now. Would love feedback:
- What's missing?
- What looks like shit?
- Should I add a video background with unicorns wielding laser swords and would you use that for your next standup video?
Cheers!
