It started as a personal need, then evolved into what it is today, and it will continue to evolve. As you know, the beginning is always spontaneous, but I believe the tool has a strong foundation, and its usage depends on the user's purpose. The goal is to have an open-source tool for quickly and stealthily collecting web data, usable in many scenarios.
