I lived through a re-valuation of the Franc and the Lira in my childhood. carrying both "old" and "new" franc around was funny.
Given how much of the world now runs in digital currency, I am surprised we haven't done a 1:100 revaluation and put things priced in Dollars back into cents because right now, the digit strings are silly.
I liked buying a bag of chips and a pickled onion for sixpence in the 60s. My dad used to laugh since what I bought for a tanner he got for tuppence. But that was over multiple decades of inflation. Fish and chips now costs $20. I don't think duodecimalisation is a thing, but it wasn't completely insane to have at least one currency working outside the decimal system for a long time.
It would be nice to be able to buy a coffee for 4c, and move the tip into history with a minimum wage.

Fun story: In 2011, Kyle Bass bought 20 million nickels, realizing that, while the face value was $.05, the metal was worth $.068.
But in more serious terms, there's a reason for that trend showing how many people think about the Roman Empire. Empires don't end every day.
