My Professional X Account Was Hacked and X Support Won't Help Me

3•Bobdavies•2mo ago
I am a college football coach. I do a lot of recruiting through my professional twitter account - its critical to my job. About a week ago it was hacked and the hacker changed my password as well as the email associated with the account. (Thank goodness that so far they've just been posting Crypto ads). X Support has only sent me automated emails basically saying they can't help me. What can I do?

They locked my account for "being inauthentic" (code word for bot?), and aren't replying to my ban appeals either. I think their support is dead.

Perhaps customer support was part of the 80% of the company Musk laid off.

How many DM did you send during October?
super256•2mo ago
None. I don't use the DM feature at all.

Perhaps you could move to a different form of professional communications which uses a more "professional" channel with support contracts?

I have much sympathy, but I also have concerns. I left twitter over 5 years ago and I have no intention of going back there, and I don't see this as a barrier to communications in a professional context.
