> In the coming period, Pinto plans to conduct research on more split-brain patients to see whether his findings can be replicated.

I love hearing this from a researcher. Good science is not dead.

Looks like he did follow up, and the title is actually descriptive: "Visual integration across fixation: automatic processes are split but conscious processes remain unified in the split-brain"

https://scholar.google.com/citations?view_op=view_citation&h...

https://www.frontiersin.org/journals/human-neuroscience/arti...

fsckboy•2mo ago
and you couldn't put a (2017) in the title?
pinkmuffinere•2mo ago
from https://news.ycombinator.com/newsguidelines.html:

> If the title includes the name of the site, please take it out, because the site name will be displayed after the link.

> If the title contains a gratuitous number or number + adjective, we'd appreciate it if you'd crop it. E.g. translate "10 Ways To Do X" to "How To Do X," and "14 Amazing Ys" to "Ys." Exception: when the number is meaningful, e.g. "The 5 Platonic Solids."

> Otherwise please use the original title, unless it is misleading or linkbait; don't editorialize.

To be fair, I do often see years in titles, and usually I appreciate it as well. But it's not my habit to add them, and in general I try to follow the guidelines. Maybe dang can add the year.

This was a big torpedo of GWT and IIT back in 2017. And it adds a big ? to Julian Jaynes. Something integrates this without the corpus callosom.
