Hey HN! I'm the solo developer behind Tracktions, a trading system I built to solve a problem I experienced firsthand: 70-80% of retail traders lose money not because of bad strategies, but because they can't follow their own rules consistently.
The core problem: Retail traders lack the systematic structure that institutions use—defined rules with accountability, real-time risk management, and psychological oversight. Most "trading journals" are just passive data dumps that traders abandon within 30 days.
What Tracktions does differently:
Rule Adherence System: Define your trading rules once, mark adherence on every trade, see direct correlation between following your system and profitability
Risk Manager: Real-time alerts before you violate position sizing, max daily loss, or portfolio heat limits
Psychological Insights: Tag trades with mood/mistakes, surface emotional patterns (FOMO, revenge trading, overconfidence) impacting performance
Daily Reflection System: Three questions daily (rules followed? risk respected? psychological patterns?) to separate strategy problems from execution problems
The key insight: Most traders jump to new strategies when they lose money, but Tracktions shows you whether your system actually works when you follow it. If it does—your problem is discipline, not strategy. If it doesn't—even with perfect execution—then refine your approach with data, not guesswork.
Tech stack: Go backend, PostgreSQL, Angular 20+, hosted on AWS (EC2, RDS). Solo-built over the past year while working full-time as SDE.
Current stage: Beta-ready with core features live. Offering free beta till Jan 31st 2026 for early users (primarily targeting Indian retail traders initially, but open to all feedback).
Why I built this: I needed a structure in my Trading and existing products in this space don't have support for Indian brokers. So why not use my existing skills to support my evolving skill.
Happy to answer questions about architecture decisions, trading psychology concepts, or product strategy!
