Ask HN: Has anyone used AI to write a full-length book?

2•eibrahim•1h ago
I'm a software developer who published a technical book with Wrox years ago. The process was brutal—months of work, endless rewrites, lost plot threads.

Recently I've been experimenting with using AI as a writing partner (not just for drafts, but for maintaining consistency across chapters, tracking characters, generating outlines, etc.)

Has anyone else tried this seriously? I'm curious about: - What worked and what didn't - How you handled the "AI voice" problem - Whether you'd consider publishing something AI-assisted
