During the festive season, I wanted to learn something fun and dive into the BEAM ecosystem. I ended up choosing Gleam for its strong type system, as I was looking for something completely different from my usual go-to, Clojure.

I’ve had a great time writing Gleam so far, and if you’re looking for something new to experiment with, I highly recommend giving it a try.

Only feedback I'd have is explaining a bit more about rebar, I saw it on your brew installs but didn't know what it was (Erlang build tool) and why you needed to install it separately to Gleam - can you build Gleam without it?

Yeah, it's a build tool in erlang, tbh I think if you just do brew install gleam it will install dependencies itself, I'll double check and update the article but during gleam development you don't need to interact with rebar3 directly
