Looks like a substantive and novel contribution to symbolic music generation. Its significance lies in bridging Dmitri Tymoczko’s very recent music theory with rigorous functional programming patterns. The article describes a Generative Grammar for music, which is structurally different from previous work. It doesn't focus on frequency integers, but on the Monoidal structure of voices. If "Voice a" is a Monoid, then "Music v a" is a function from voices to notes.
