Small-time crypto investors are facing violent attacks

Bloomberg attributes irreversible transactions as part of the reason for physically violent attacks.

The cryptopunks anticipated a lot of effects that cryptocurrency would have. Did they predict the violent attacks to induce an irreversible transaction?

I've speculated that scammers like Alex Jones boost Bitcoin because cryptocurrency refunds would be solely at the scammers discretion, no credit card charge backs.

I think they knew that digital cash would be stolen like cash.

A decent amount of money has been recovered from crypto scammers by seizing it from exchanges and such. Of course that only works because most crypto has defective privacy. People have also gotten partial refunds by promising not to prosecute (then the government prosecutes anyway).
