EU calls for input: How to strengthen EU Open Source

EU is doubling down on open source security and now even starting with their compliance policies for enterprises. I'm sure early signs of this will soon show to the US by 2027, OpenSSF and CISA have been pretty vocal about this
benoau•8h ago
It will be interesting to see how they approach this, producing open source software "at scale" come with all the costs, difficulties and high mortality rates of any other startup or business trying to successfully and sustainably build something people want to use. They need to paint such a broad stroke to find the winners it would be perfect for an "open source UBI".
elbci•8h ago
Open source, by definition can't be "EU" - it's either universal or it's not open.

This already annoying spam with the eu call for papers will - at best - result in a random linux distro with a logo slapped on top that will cost 50 million dollars and will be used in 5 kindergartens and 3 elderly nursing homes.
