Show HN: First professional-grade AI fonts

https://fonthero.com/
1•jrd79•3w ago
Hi HN,

We have developed (from scratch) the world's first production-grade Font GenAI system, and have used it to put together the largest collection of fonts on the planet:

  https://fonthero.com
(1) There have been other serious efforts at developing GenAI fonts. These have struggled to produce consistent, professional-looking fonts and most of them produce irregular and inconsistent results that do not pass the bar of usability. (We of course also have some "claw hands" in our results, but large swaths are more or less error free.)

(2) Our filter lists are organized using the traveling salesman problem (TSP) on the distances between feature vectors established from the VAE's latent space. This creates lists that have enough movement to allow exploration, while having enough local continuity to feel coherent and smooth. (Keyword searches are not organized by TSP because those lists are ad-hoc and TSP takes too long to do live.)

(3) Our descriptions are LLM generated and are full of accurate and descriptive keywords, making free text search a meaningful tool. See the keyword suggestions for the types of things you can meaningfully search for.

(4) Our terms are free for commercial use, and we don't require login or other hoop-jumping to access the fonts. The font world is full of complex licenses, high prices, and aggressive gatekeeping and that is just not reasonable in a world of ubiquitous GenAI.

(5) Because they all come out of the same model, all fonts have the same 255 glyphs, covering more or less all Latin-derived character sets.

(6) Single click download of the TTF. If a full font is more than you need you can also get a PNG or SVG of your text sample.
