I built X41, a small Safari extension for iOS that removes the home feed on X.com.
I still want to post, reply, check notifications, and look at analytics. I just don’t want the infinite, algorithmic timeline pulling me in every time I open X.
X41 removes the home feed entirely and replaces it with a minimal navigation: Profile, Notifications, and Analytics. Posting, replies, likes, and stats all continue to work normally.
The goal is simple: turn X back into a tool instead of a slot machine.
There’s no tracking, no account creation, and no data collection. Everything runs locally as a Safari extension.
I’m especially interested in feedback from people who still find value in X but feel conflicted about how addictive the default experience has become.
Happy to answer any questions about the implementation, Safari extensions, or the App Store process.
