Show HN: A tool to practice lateral thinking organically

https://dailycredo.vercel.app/
2•jennalk•1h ago
I saw a Terrence Tao quote recently, that AI is great at converting billions of pieces of data into one good answer, but humans are great at taking 10 observations and making an inspired guess. That ability to make inspired guesses is something we should retain.

I built this because I caught myself using ChatGPT for things I used to think through myself, like emails, texts, basic problems. I was skipping the thinking part to get to the answer faster.

My own thinking has started feeling duller. struggling with hard ideas and coming up with something original is something I've been outsourcing as of late. So I built this for myself and anyone else who wants that back.

The premise is simple: One creative, weird, provocative prompt a day, to be answered by yourself. just a daily rep to try and think for yourself again.

The premise that AI is dulling our thinking is interesting, but I’m skeptical that a 'daily prompt' is the right fix. The reason I outsource emails or basic text is usually speed and convenience, not a lack of ability to think laterally. I don't see how answering a random creative riddle once a day changes the friction of daily tasks that drives us to use AI in the first place.

Nice landing page though!
