fuck ice

Wow, this video was eye opening in how well it told the story and analyzed all its pieces.

It’s shocking to see “border” patrol operating in the middle of cities FAR from the border. And the abuse and violence targeting Americans is unprecedented. This is what they’re willing to do to US Citizens. Hearing about the 6 year old child screaming in fear as they raided their home is heartbreaking. I don’t see how any ethical person can support this. The parallels are too real at this point:

”Terrible things are happening outside. At any time of night and day, poor helpless people are being dragged out of their homes… Families are torn apart: men, women and children are separated. Children come home from school to find their parents have disappeared.”

– Anne Frank

Im jewish and my wife mary is chaldean. I truly feel like the resiliency of our communities will protect us in a way that more vulnerable ones like hispanics arent able to swallow right now. They dont have meaningful political representation or access to politicians like we do so they are easy targets even though the vast majority detained by ice have zero criminal record. Its disgusting. I see people being detained every day for peaceful protesting and being called domestic terrorists but i also see more people than ever before protesting. I feel more hopeful about politics than ever before. Theres a reason ice is targeting places like minnessota and not here in detroit. They think of those places as vulnerable liberal snowflake pushovers they can easily target. I feel at peace here in detroit because i know the government would not get away with the same things. Nothing bad will happen here in detroit so i dont think the anne frank z’ll quote is applicable to everyones situatiom equally in mexicantown or dearborn or shelby township or sterling heights. At some point something will have to give, i dont know what it is but the government wont be able to get away with this much longer.
