I built a seatbelt for traders because charts weren't why I was losing money

Hey HN — I’m not an engineer by background. I’ve just traded long enough to see myself (and a lot of other people) make the same dumb mistakes over and over, even when the strategy was fine.

Every tool I used focused on charts, entries, indicators, or some “edge.” None of them helped with what actually blew accounts up: getting emotional, chasing losses, sizing up at the wrong time, breaking rules you thought you had.

So I started building Samson as a seatbelt for traders.

It doesn’t tell you what to trade and it doesn’t predict markets. It looks at behavior instead — things like loss streaks, position size changes, and when discipline starts slipping. The demo is diagnostic only. You upload a CSV of trades and it shows where risk built up and which trades happened during high-risk behavioral windows. Nothing gets blocked in the demo.

The live system (not enabled here) is meant to be closed-loop and anonymous. It learns your baseline over time and only steps in when your own behavior starts to go sideways. The idea isn’t to trade for you — it’s to stop you from doing the things you already know you shouldn’t be doing.

For HN I unlocked the full diagnostic for free for a short window so people can see how it works without paying.

I really need real users at this stage. I’m especially interested in feedback from traders, risk folks, or anyone who thinks this is a bad idea and can explain why.

Happy to answer questions or hear what’s broken, confusing, or just unnecessary.
