I’m not a professional developer. In fact, I barely know how to code.
But I’ve always had a simple yet annoying problem: transferring a piece of text or a URL from my iPhone to my Windows PC.
Existing solutions felt too heavy—I didn’t want to log into chat apps (like WhatsApp/Messenger) on a public computer just to send myself a link, and emailing myself felt outdated. I just wanted a simple "portal."
So, I decided to try an experiment: Could I build the tool I wanted using only AI?
The result is TempVault. To my surprise, it actually works, and it works well.
How it works: Instead of just copying one thing, it works like a temporary storage box:
* Create & Store: You create a "Bucket" with a custom key, then drop text or Markdown notes into it.
* Easy Sharing: To access it on another device, you can use the Key, scan a QR Code, or just type a temporary 6-digit number (easier to type).
* Features: You can manage content across devices, and even add a simple password if needed.
* Set & Forget: No login required. Data vanishes automatically after 24 hours.
My takeaway: Building this has been a mind-blowing experience. Watching the AI generate the code, fix bugs, and even help me with deployment (Docker/Caddy) was like magic. It feels like we are living in a time where the barrier to creation has never been lower.
It’s a simple tool, but it solves my problem perfectly. I hope it helps you too!
