I built CancelShouldBeEasy.com after a frustrating experience with a SaaS subscription. I was overcharged and found it incredibly difficult to get a cancellation and refund. When I searched online, I realized I wasn't alone—I found others on Reddit venting about the exact same issue with the same company.
I was like: this can't be right, cancel should be as easy as signup.
And after some search, I realized that while new regulations like the FTC's "Click-to-Cancel" rule and California's AB 2863 are steps in the right direction, many of us still feel unheard when dealing with confusing cancellation flows.
Hence, I built this site.
What it does:
This tool makes it easy to create, share, and co-sign professional complaint letters. 1. Generate: You enter the vendor and your issue. It drafts a structured letter that references relevant consumer protection guidelines (like the new FTC rule or GDPR) to articulate your frustration clearly. 2. Share & Co-sign: It creates a permalink for your letter so others with the same problem can "co-sign" it. 3. Visibility: We specifically optimized for SEO and social media metadata (Open Graph tags).
This ensures that when complaints are searched for or shared on social platforms, they are indexed effectively and display clearly with rich previews to help gain attention.
The Goal:
We aren't lawyers and this isn't legal advice. The goal is to help consumers express their frustration in a structured way and show businesses that these aren't just isolated incidents. We hope that by raising awareness of these consumer protection laws, we can encourage companies to simplify their cancellation processes voluntarily.
I’d love your feedback on the letter generation and if there are other ways we can help make these complaints more constructive and visible. Thanks!
