Timers didn't work for me because I'd just ignore them. Website blockers failed because I use YouTube for both coding tutorials and cat videos.
So I built ADHD Focus Mate, a native Mac app that uses AI to understand my context, not just the domain.
It periodically checks my screen to see if I'm actually working. If I am, it leaves me alone. If I'm doomscrolling, it nudges me back to flow state.
The stack is super simple: It's just a native SwiftUI app that lives in your menu bar. Every few minutes it sends a screenshot to Gemini to check if you're working or wasting time. The privacy is strict—screenshots are processed in RAM and deleted instantly, never saved to disk.
It's open source and costs <$1/mo to run. I'd love your thoughts!
