Show HN: IPAware – Unlimited IP Intelligence API with Flat Pricing

6•dorukalpulgen•1h ago
Hey HN,

We built IPAware (https://ipaware.io) - an IP intelligence API that doesn't charge per request.

What it does:

- IP geolocation (country, region, city, coordinates, timezone)

- Threat detection (VPN/Proxy/Tor, risk scoring, datacenter detection)

- ASN/ISP data

- Clean JSON responses

Why we built this:

Every IP lookup service we tried had the same problem - you start small, your app grow and suddenly you're paying hundreds for what should be a commodity lookup. The metering anxiety is real. We wanted something we could integrate without worrying about the bill exploding.

How it works:

Flat monthly/yearly pricing. Pro plan is unlimited requests for $9.99/month or $99.90/year. Free tier gives you 5000 requests/month to try it out. Fair-use limits exist to prevent abuse, but no per-request metering.

Tech details:

- Edge delivery for low latency - REST API, returns JSON - No SDK required (works with curl, fetch, or any HTTP client) - Databases updated every night for accuracy - IPv4 and IPv6 support

Limitations to be upfront about:

- City-level accuracy varies by region (country/region is reliable, city is best-effort) - Fair-use applies on unlimited plans - this isn't for scraping the entire internet - Our threat detection algorithm is good but not perfect

Launch offer:

Sign up within the first 24 hours and get the Pro tier ($9.99/month) free for an entire month. Your account gets a full month of unlimited Pro access with features that are not normally available to the free tier - no strings attached. At any point, you can decide to keep the Pro tier or switch to the free tier on the dashboard.

Happy to answer questions about the tech, infrastructure, or anything else.

All feedback is greatly appreciated!
