16:T4c3,I've spent most of my career building predictive models on tabular data.

The highest-value systems I've seen aren't flashy AI demos. They're tactical predictive models that replace expensive third-party services or create new revenue streams by selling predictions directly.

Those deployments can generate millions in cost savings or entirely new product lines. Despite the excitement around LLMs, this category of AI isn't really being disrupted by language models.

The real bottleneck has always been data preparation: integrating signals from many relational tables, handling time, cardinality, and aggregation before a model can even be trained.

What's starting to look interesting is combining stronger abstractions for relational data preparation with emerging tabular foundation models.

That combination could dramatically increase the throughput of building high-value predictive systems.

There is some similar research coming out of the University of Hong Kong: https://arxiv.org/pdf/2602.1369717:T447,I built FeralDeps as part of a college project; it's an open-source, local dependency scanner for Java projects that also checks for outdated dependencies and known vulnerabilities. Most of the scanning and reporting runs locally, so your project data never leaves your machine.

It generates HTML reports, shows CVSS severity scores, and comes with a simple GUI. You can optionally provide API credentials for OSS Index or GitHub for more detailed vulnerability info.

- Local scanning keeps your code and data private

- Generates easy to read reports and charts
