FreeNeta – Lightweight PROFINET discovery tool written in Python

I built this because I wanted a quick way to discover PROFINET devices without downloading Siemens PRONETA and creating an account just to get the installer.

FreeNeta is a small Python tool that uses PROFINET DCP to discover devices and allows basic commissioning tasks like setting IP addresses and station names.

It also includes vendor lookup via MAC OUI, a simple topology view, ping monitoring, and quick actions like opening device web interfaces or SSH.

Curious if anyone here working with industrial networks has suggestions or ideas for improvements.
