The existing law states that a person recognized as transgender “shall have a right to self-perceived gender identity.”
This amendment discards that, with gender identity being verified by the state.
Recognition requires approval from a medical board and consultation with medical professionals, basically getting rid of self declaration.
And, hospitals must report gender-affirming surgery to authorities (!).
It's an unprovoked regression and will reverse years of positive precedent (Supreme Court NALSA 2014, PRIVACY 2017, SEC 377 2018)
