The open source BI ecosystem is not well represented. Tools like Metabase and Apache Superset are great but focus on dashboards only. JasperReports feels outdated. There's a real need for a modern, self-hosted open source alternative to commercial offerings like Tableau, Power BI, and Google Looker — all of which push vendor and cloud lock-in. ReportBurster is our take on filling that gap — it does what SSRS + Power BI do, but fully open source and self-hosted.
