I've read other New Yorker pieces by the author, Kyle Chayka. I believe he's quite aware of that and is using it as a diss. He wants no part of tech bros in his life.

Perhaps you missed the memo, but affording basic dignity/respect to those you disagree with is "woke" and therefore bad.
