Deeply unpopular dictatorships in Russia and Iran are able to easily retain power as their people are unarmed. Dictatorships need less than one percent of the population to support them as long as that dictatorship has guns, but the people do not.
The only governments that unarmed people have overthrown have been in cases where that government allows it by not fighting back.
This is why gun rights are so important to freedom and democracy in America – both left wing and right wing leaders are afraid of the people’s ability to fight back. Gun rights are the sole reason Americans have stayed free as long as we have.
