Once github was bought by microsoft, they have been breaking, step by step, classic web support (noscript/basic (x)html), namely they created a hard dependencies on the massive complexity and size of the whatng cartel web engines.
I don't think you can create a github.com account with a classic web browser anymore.
To add insult to injury, microsoft outlook.com, github email service required for web API token generation and probably account creation does not support email addresses with IPv[46] literals required by self hosted SMTP servers without paying the DNS mob.
