I'm writing to you as the founder and strategic director of Infomaniak because something important has just happened, and it concerns you directly.
I no longer control Infomaniak
It's not a multinational that has taken my place. It's a Swiss public-interest foundation: the Infomaniak Foundation. It now holds the majority of voting rights, in the form of special shares that can never be transferred.
The Infomaniak Foundation has two missions:
First, to support projects of general interest: digital sovereignty and education, environment and biodiversity, ethical technology, and the energy transition.
Second, as the reference shareholder, to safeguard the independence and longevity of our DNA.
What this changes for you
You chose Infomaniak for specific reasons: sovereignty, sustainability, respect for your privacy, and local roots.
Today, these commitments no longer depend on me. They are written into a charter that no one can undo.
I remain fully committed to Infomaniak's strategy, alongside the leadership team that has been running Infomaniak for years. What's changing is what protects it.
No investor, present or future, will be able to alter Infomaniak's DNA, mission, or independence. This protection will also allow us to welcome, in complete safety, the resources we need to grow.
And so that you can verify our commitments year after year, Infomaniak publishes a public impact report every year.
Why now
Today, more and more of you are entrusting us with your data, websites, emails, and business-critical activities. That trust, built up over thirty years, represents a vast amount of information. In the AI era, it has taken on an unprecedented strategic value.
At a time when most European data sits with a handful of American players. At a time when we have seen, mid-proceedings, judges at the International Criminal Court lose access to their digital services overnight. At a time when AI consumes ever more energy and concentrates ever more power. Europe's technological autonomy has never been more essential.
Such trust could no longer rest on my goodwill alone. It demanded structural protection.
This is what I owe you.
All the details, how the Foundation works, its members, and what comes next for Infomaniak, are explained here:

You chose Infomaniak years ago, sometimes decades ago, for reasons that have never been more relevant than they are today. This foundation is my way of protecting your choice for the long term.
It's also my way, today, of saying thank you. Thank you for your trust. Thank you for choosing a sovereign cloud, rooted in the local economy, that respects your privacy.
With my deepest gratitude,
Boris Siegenthaler, founder and strategic director of Infomaniak
