Every conversation with a platform team about adopting an MCP layer eventually arrives at the same question: "fine, but can we actually run this in production?"

Auth, Observability, rate limiting are just some challenges to face with every integration. Protocol fragmentation is one that isnt being discussed enough. Most existing systems do not present a clean, well documented OpenAPI spec. We've seen SOAP, non-conforming API, GraphQL, gRPC all providing highly interesting tools for agentic workflows, but they are hidden behind many complex configurations,
