The big selling point of AI is the giddy idea that it will increase productivity and create an economic boom.

An economic recession is an equally if not a more likely result.

AI may actually cost *more* than human workers and increase the overall cost of production while decreasing consumption due to reduction or elimination of wages.

In other words, it may increase prices and decrease wages. And who wouldn't want that?
