Top American AI Execs Sound Alarm on Chinese Models

I’m so tired of this. These execs saw the threat a long time ago, but then it was in their interest to not have pesky regulations get in the way of world domination.

Now they’re being outcompeted and so we should suddenly have regulations.

Time to put your big boy pants on and compete.

raychis•21m ago
This blanket assumption that Chinese AI models are a threat is really silly. We need to be able to separate security concerns with concerns about competition. The media at large seems unable to distinguish this and it is really annoying.

AI policy should not focus on where a model is developed. It should focus on its capabilities, transparency, and deployment risks.

These articles are propaganda, it’s not an independent journalist writing it, they’re doing it at the behest of Anthropic or someone like them that’s pushing for regulatory capture.
