In a strained labor market people are less like to depart, even if they have low morale because the company isn’t innovative or expansive in the way it treats employees and thus reducing ingenuity, creativity, and risk taking.

They’re measuring the wrong thing by looking at offer acceptance and voluntary attrition rates, and therefore they’re optimizing for the wrong thing.
