Normally, I stay away from religion and politics, but I thought I'd share a quick and dirty pet project I worked on in case anyone was interested. I discovered recently that Christians are the most persecuted religion. I gathered data from as many open sources as possible and created a map that shows documented Christian persecution by country. You could easily fork the code and make it a site for Muslims (the second most persecuted) and similar. Each night, GitHub Actions pulls from various sources, including news, and documents updates by country. It's not perfect, e.g., the US has news articles from other countries, but it's a start. I also was not able to find open sources that are not in English. If you have any content issues with the site, direct that to the publishers please, not me.

The clear bias in this data is that in order for it to be persecution it has to be reported in some way that generates data. There is a whole silent level of persecution that goes on that nobody hears about even in the churches, in part because nobody wants to hear certain things until they land in their yard.
