Right. Instituting DEI mandates and quotas or facing legal persecution [1,2,3,4] was just "equality", but rolling that back, and banning explicit racial favoritism, is a "crackdown".

I fully support Biden administration’s stance on [2], you have to take positive discrimination case-by-case (because sometimes it’s bad). What I will tell you is that the answer isn’t whatever this is, and this is certainly a “crackdown.”
