The drones “might accidentally target a fleeing student instead of a shooter” or “remote pilots, in a split-second decision,

In fairness that is the same risk of an armed officer rushing into a classroom. Their split second decisions have a bigger impact and they are not going into an active shooter situation with tasers. Let the drone breech and the officers enter upon instructions from the drone operator.

Adequate for a number of reasons - including the invention as their recurrent feature "«No way to prevent this», says (etc.)".
