I started building this to learn Afrikaans which has sparse support on language learning apps. It was costing me roughly $50 per month to do my preferred learning routine. The LLM chat and journal corrections are excellent learning tools.

It has grown to support 12 modern languages with more on the way.

There's some excellent apps in this space (Lingq, Readlang) but they don't integrate well with Anki, which is just the best flashcard app one can choose, and they own your data. Self-hosting and data sovereignty was also an important concern for me.
