I recently came across a strange cluster of rising Google searches like “truck wala music”, “salon music”, and “bus music”.

Following those searches led me down a rabbit hole of small websites built around very specific Indian everyday scenes — truck drivers, barber shops, buses — combined with old Bollywood and desi music.

I liked the idea, so I built Wala Vibes:

The first scene is Truck Wala: a small browser-based radio with a hand-picked playlist, truck-inspired UI, and a few interactions like the horn. There’s no signup, and I don’t host the music — playback uses YouTube.

I’m now experimenting with turning this into a collection of scenes rather than just a truck playlist. Bus and salon are probably next.

I’d especially love feedback on whether the scene itself adds enough to the listening experience, and what you’d improve before I add more of them.
