We have run a full crypto boom/bust cycle and we are mid-way through the AI one. What's next?

Advanced manufacturing. Some combination of synthetic biology, fermentation, 3-d printing, flow chemistry and automated product design and manufacturing planning.

More important than rocketry for any space colonization project. Large market demand as a derisking technology for a world which could experience controlled or uncontrolled degrowth and deglobalization.

Being able to consistently identify or validate when someone is a human/managing identity.

Other things (these are my random guesses): - “Space” -> space colonialism will def be the next thing (nation level FOMO = stupid money) - “Quantum” -> this will be meaningless but generate a crazy hype cycle bc of the promise of security & potentially cheap AI (security FOMO + poorly understood science = stupid money) - batteries/power/metals (robotics, maybe for mining operations - this is practical not so much FOMO but driven by it) - “improving human connection” -> a re-hash of social media - autonomous companies/stuff to help solo founders (the myth of the solo founder is about to be an annoying thing) - Synthetic/designer drugs for human optimization (personalized meds based on your genetics & immune profile)

Get ready for the Musk (aka Dyson) Sphere, pod people, and space travel!
