I’m always skeptical when I see an emotion attributed to an entire political party or ‘CEOs’ (“panic”)

BuT they pushed the AI will destroy all jobs and possibly kill us all so hard -

I can’t imagine they wanted an outcome where they were incredibly politically toxic, but it’s like jumping off a cliff and being surprised when you start to fall?

They spent years acting in a way that 1000% predicted this outcome. In my wildest dreams I couldn’t have imagined this turning out well.

It also feels like this ship has sailed. What are they going to do, get the Rock and Taylor Swift shilling for datacenters?

And I don’t think Dario “the only solution is to cure cancer” Amodei is helping matters.

I know this is antithetical to everything Silicon Valley believes, but I think we as humans have forgotten how to dream small.
