Burning Mesh is a volunteer-run, off-grid LoRa mesh network for Burning Man — works without cell service or WiFi. Last year there were around 1,700 nodes on the playa, which is dense enough that they had to build custom firmware just to keep the mesh usable. The 2026 firmware went live recently. I'm just planning to join with a couple of nodes myself, not involved in building it. Hope to see y'all at the burn!
