This sounds like a crazy case ("idiotic company does exactly what its products prevent"), but really it amounts to "con men are going to con".

In this case, a con man was selling a fake service, but it wasn't a serious offering: it was vastly over-priced and meant to be used to defraud the elderly.

The fact that they made illicit calls to sell their service ... which itself happened to be a "call blocker" ... is cute. But really, this is just a sad story about con men conning the elderly.
