Tell HN: STOP making Vibe Slop websites that LAG on my MBP and workstation

2•moomoo11•1h ago
I get it, you want to show off how "cool" you are with your hijacked scrolling and 50 million animations. Does marketing in 2026 mean your potential customer's computer starts lagging with horrendous layouts and designs?

Nobody gives a shit. I'm not impressed. If it lags, I'm closing the tab. Maybe VCs think it is cool, but people like them think everything is cool.

"Oh but we're in the AGENTIC AGE, humans aren't reading our site" MF the AI agent can't even understand the website now with all your nonsense, and we need fkin VISUAL MODELS that after loading the site, wait 10 seconds, and then MAYBE it gets it.

For example, I saw all the buzz about Linear and I hadn't used it in a few years. Their website lags like a MF on my M1 max which sure, that's not the latest M4/5. I tried it on my desktop workstation and it just as bad. I don't have any of those reduce motion or no GPU accel, etc. It is just slow and laggy!

What are you guys doing? All these websites are horrendous. Stop it.

Why can't these people just tell us what the fuck they do as a company?

(not only speaking of Linear, which most of us here probably know, but various other startups which are boosted on X)

...while you're at it, stop making sites that are unusable until all the analytic slop has loaded.
