So far, we've treated agents as a horizontal shift: the programmer remained a programmer and simply handed the coding work over to an agent. That's why everyone is now rushing to optimize Agent Experience. But the real shift is vertical. We need to move one level up and become engineers. Engineers work not so much with code, but with systems: they understand them, make decisions, and define the changes. Code becomes the agent's domain. Right now, we talk a lot about making things convenient for agents. But I don't think that's the goal in itself. We need to start thinking about Engineering Experience: how easy it is for an engineer to work with and understand the system. Agent Experience is just a derivative of that.
