Steam Deck / SteamOS hit over 30k Verified and Playable games

It's worth mentioning that the difference between playable and verified is sometimes just control mapping, or the wrong icons being shown, or default graphics settings need to be adjusted.

Games often run well when they aren't flagged as verified or playable too. The remapping UX via Steam/Steam OS is good enough that I've happily played a lot of keyboard and mouse-only games well too.
