I wonder how many people would opt out after they’ve grown accustomed to endless feeds.
I turned off my YouTube history about a month ago, which has the side effect of disabling all the recommended videos on the home page, so I just have my subscriptions. This creates a limit on how many new videos are put in front of me each day. If someone is looking to mindlessly watch stuff for hours, they’re going to have a bad time.
I do appreciate options though, as it might let people opt-in to using sites to keep up with friends and family again, instead of just being content slot machines.
