As an embedded engineer the output of arm-none-eabi-size and a spreadsheet tells me the story, but an email or a slide for the client doesn't do it.
Another motivator for this project was why not make today look like the future of the movies! You watch tech action movies and there is 3D rotation views of processors, or circuits as holograms right in front of you, or animations of zooming through networks.
These movie effects are designed for the exact same thing professional engineers want, to get the info across in an instant to people who don’t know the details. The action hero needs to show the mega-gigatron reactor is almost full, so the green-yellow-red bar graph is almost full, spinning and blinking red with a flashing warning sign suggesting impending doom! While in reality the stakes are less dramatic than that, imagine if the information on how full a system is was conveyed to a PM or VP in the same way?
That's the goal of this project, give the engineer the tool to show the boss the details graphically, and make it look good.
