About 10 years ago, when my oldest daughter was a baby, we used to play with animal-shaped fridge magnets. I started trying to pack all of them into the smallest possible area, mostly to make the game more interesting for myself. I remember thinking it could make a surprisingly good optimization game.

Now it’s finally built: https://poptimum.fun

Poptimum is a daily web game where everyone gets the same set of shapes and tries to pack them as tightly as possible. A new random puzzle is available every day, with scores ranked against other players in your country and worldwide. It works on desktop and mobile.
