I found an old video in my own AI workflow and decided to remake it

I wasn't looking for an old video.

I found it while using my own video workflow. At the time, the project was still called Happiness; today it has become NeXus.

The Video Finder had found this piece of footage and I had downloaded the original. It was basically just a silent video — no voice-over, no elaborate graphics, no finished commercial.

I kept it.

Recently I came across it again and wondered what would happen if I took the original material and ran it through the tools I use today.

So I did.

I used my NeXus workflow together with Antigravity to create a new version from the original footage.

What surprised me wasn't simply the improvement in image quality. The result has a different character.

It doesn't feel like I simply restored an old video. It feels more like the original material has been reinterpreted. The people, movement and basic footage are still from the source, but the presentation feels much closer to something that could have been produced today.

I don't even know how old this particular video actually is.

But I have some much older material sitting around too — including videos from the 1950s.

That makes me curious about the next experiment:

What happens when you take footage that is genuinely 70 years old and put it through a modern AI video workflow?

Not simply restoring it. Not pretending it was filmed today.

Just taking something from the 1950s and seeing what a 2026 production workflow can make of it.

That's probably next.

For now, this is the result of the first experiment. The video is on the page linked above.

I'm curious whether other people see what I see here — or whether I'm simply too close to the project after working on it.
