Sales calculation tool for Excel price lists

1•Marten42•45m ago
Hi HN,

I built a sales calculation tool for teams that still rely heavily on Excel for product pricing and quote calculations.

The idea is to keep the useful part of Excel instead of forcing sales teams to rebuild all of their pricing logic somewhere else. A salesperson can upload an Excel file (which is saved in IndexedDB locally on the persons computer), create a customer-specific calculation from it and generate offer PDFs or order confirmation PDFs.

The calculation can also be connected to customer data, contacts, products and machines in a database so the salesperson does not have to keep copying the same information.

I started working on this because there seem to be a lot of B2B sales processes where the actual pricing logic still lives in spreadsheets. The tool is already working and used by a handful of people, but because setup is of course company-specific and a bit complicated, I am only posting a waitlist-landing-page here and then I would do the setup manually for those who are interested.

I suspect this would especially be useful for those selling configurable products, machinery or other products where quoting involves more than entering a quantity and a unit price.
